What does it mean when someone says “subscribe to my channel” or “click the red button to subscribe”? I’m going to cover all the basics of how to subscribe to a YouTube channel in this video. If you’ve ever wondered how to subscribe to a channel, you’ll want to watch this one!

Up until recently, I had no idea that there may be people in my network who weren’t sure how to subscribe to YouTube channels. To subscribe to any YouTube channel, you need a YouTube account.

The simplest way to do that is through Gmail via Google. Head to mail.google.com & create an account if you don’t already have one. From there head to youtube.com & your channel will be created. Don’t worry, you don’t have to upload videos to have a YouTube channels. You’re welcome to just consume content rather than create it.

Once you’re logged into YouTube, you’ll see the little red “Subscribe” button under the username below the videos you’re watching & on the channel homepage.

One trending suggestion for YouTube creators lately is that subscribers should turn on notifications to their account. You’ll see a little alarm bell symbol on the Subscribe button once you’ve subscribed that will activate a push notification every time the YouTube account posts a video.
